Following route 390 takes you to Springdale, a regional supply center which stretches along the north shore of Halls Bay.

Branching to route 392 leads to the smaller communities of
St. Patricks, Little Bay & Beachside,as well as the ferry dock at Shoal Arm for a 45 minute ride to Little Bay Islands where a system of hiking trails and lookouts offer an expansive view of Notre Dame Bay.

Route 380 leaves the Trans Canada at South Brook,taking you to Roberts Arm and the island outport communities of Port Anson & Miles Cove on Sunday Cove Island, Beaumont & Lushes Bight on Long Island
as well as Pilleys Island, Triton & Brighton. There are three hiking trails along this scenic route. In addition to their rich history and culture, the islands offer some of the best boating in Nfld, with many miles of shoreline to explore.

The TCH passes through the region with parks and services at roadside. The town of South Brook, is known as the gateway to Halls Bay South.
